All ticket sales are final. Please review your selections carefully before submitting your order. There are no refunds for a missed performance.
In the event you are unable to use your tickets, you are welcome to donate your tickets back to Steel River Playhouse. Speak with a Box Office representative at 610-970-1199 at least two hours prior to a performance.
Cancelled Performances
Due to the nature of live theater, programs, performers, dates, and times are subject to change. Steel River Playhouse reserves the right to cancel or reschedule offerings at its sole discretion. No refund applies if a performance is rescheduled. In the event that an event is cancelled and is not rescheduled, or tickets are not honored at a future performance date for the same production, you may receive a refund of your ticket price, or you may apply your refund to a ticket for a future Steel River Playhouse event.
Relaxed Performances
Steel River Playhouse is excited to provide a welcoming environment for all patrons to enjoy live theater and express themselves freely without judgment. We invite individuals with ADD, ADHD, Dementia, Autism, sensory sensitivities, or any patron who would enjoy a performance where they can freely express themselves to join us. Performance adjustments include: freedom to talk, vocalize, move, respond and communicate during the performance; the ability to leave seats during the performance; and house lights kept on low throughout the performance.
ACCESS Ticketing
ACCESS is a community initiative developed to make arts and cultural spaces more accessible and affordable. ACCESS is the largest and fastest-growing program for Art-Reach. ACCESS provides $2 admission to over 80 cultural sites throughout Greater Philadelphia and Delaware for individuals receiving SNAP benefits and individuals with disabilities.

Theater Etiquette
Part of the magic of live performance is the shared experience — the subtle interplay between performers and audience, and how laughing, crying, and “oohing and ahhing” binds an audience. Etiquette is the rule of thumb that guide us so that everyone has the best shared experience they can.
Dress Code
We have no rules about dress. Please just use good judgment so that you don’t distract yourself or others, and don’t impede the view of others. Please remember, you’ll be in close proximity to other audience members. Scents, such as perfumes, colognes and even hair sprays, may not only distract others, but may trigger significant allergic reactions.

Latecomers Cannot Be Seated Until There Is a Break
If you are late, ushers are just doing their jobs if they must ask you to wait.
Let Us Know About Special Access Needs in Advance
Unless all other seats are sold, seats are held aside for those with access needs. Please contact the box office to make arrangements.
Turn Off Your Cell Phone and Other Electronic Devices
Ring tones are not the only problem. Light and the motions of texting can distract other patrons and the performers. If you forget and your mobile rings during the performance, turn it off; do not answer. Please check for messages during the intermission. In addition, cell phones can interfere with wireless technology in use in the theater. Picture-taking or recording during performances is prohibited. Doing so violates the contracts we sign with vendors allowing us to produce the show you are attending and could result in heavy fines assigned to Steel River Playhouse or denial to further rights.
Sit in the Seats You Have Purchased
That makes it easier for everyone else to find their seats. If your view is totally blocked by a tall person in front of you, before the performance begins, ask the usher to help you resolve the issue.
Plan for Your Comfort and Not to Distract Others
Get everything out or put it away before performance begins. Searching through pockets, bags, etc. can be noisier and more distracting than you imagine. If you think they’ll be necessary, bring cough suppressants, lozenges, medications and have them ready; unwrap during applause, laughing or during intermission.
Visit Restrooms Before the Performance Begins
Restrooms are in our basement. Unless there’s an emergency, plan to stay seated during performances.
No Smoking
There is no smoking anywhere in the theater or on any of its premises.
During Performances
React to What’s Happening on Stage
Please feel free to have honest reactions to what is happening onstage. Please laugh, applaud and enjoy the performance. Applause is anticipated after a well performed song or dance during a scene, after each scene or act, and at curtain call. However, refrain from talking, whispering, singing, or humming during the performance. That will distract both other audience members and the actors. Overtures are part of performances.
Help Us Keep the Venue Clean
Volunteers prepare and clean our facility. Whatever you bring into the theater, please take it out with you.
Plan to Stay for the Whole Production
Leaving early distracts audience members and actors because you’re already in the theater.
Need Urgent Assistance?
If you need assistance during the show, please go to your nearest volunteer usher or staff member.
Please Wait for the House Lights to Come Up Before Leaving
This honors the performers and it is safer for the audience.
Children and Live Theater
Young children are welcome at Steel River Playhouse. In fact, we have extensive education opportunities for children and performances geared specifically for them. We believe that live performance can be even more magical for children than adults.
However, children under five years of age are not permitted in Steel River Playhouse performances. Every child who attends, regardless of age, must have their own ticket and seat.
Age Appropriateness
We do not decide for parents which of our performances geared to adults are appropriate for their children. We strongly recommend that parents take time to determine which shows are appropriate for their children to attend.
Help Children Learn Theater Etiquette
What’s familiar to adults, or at least common sense to us, might be unusual for children. Please help share theater etiquette with your children who will be attending Steel River Playhouse performances.
Some guidelines to prepare young children for attending live performances:
- Explain what makes attending a live performance with lots of people around different than watching television at home.
- Answer questions ahead of time. Children are naturally curious, but asking and answering questions during performances is disruptive.
- They will be expected to be quiet, sit in their own chair, and not disturb others around them by talking or fidgeting.
- They will need to keep their feet on the floor, not on the seats around them. They should not kick the chair in front of them or stand during the performance.
- They should use the restroom before the performance or during intermission and only with their parent(s) or guardian.
- The theater will be dark at times and sudden bursts of sounds or lights or smoke may happen. Please try to make your children aware of what to expect.
If your child becomes restless, frightened, or very loud, please take them to the lobby. Loud noise will travel into the theater. You may always ask an usher or staff person to re-seat you towards the back of the theater.
