Whether you are traveling from the Philadelphia area, Reading, or points north and south, our convenient location makes planning your trip to the theater a breeze.
From Philadelphia & the East
Route 76W to Valley Forge/Route 422W, Pottstown exit. Travel 422W to the N. Hanover St. exit (15 to 20 minutes). Turn right at end of exit ramp (light) onto N. Hanover St. Cross the bridge and railroad tracks. Turn right onto High St. (light). Steel River Playhouse is 1½ blocks on the left. Parking areas will be on the right.
From Exton & Downingtown (via the PA Turnpike)
Follow Route 100N, crossing Route 401 (Ludwig’s Corner) & Route 23. Continue to the intersection of King St. and PA 663 (about 5-10 minutes). Turn right onto King St. (there are two right turn-offs approaching this intersection — be sure to take the 2nd one, closest to the light). Continue on King St. and turn right onto N. Hanover St., then left onto High St. (light). Steel River Playhouse is 1½ blocks on the left. Parking areas will be on the right.
From New York & Allentown
From Allentown, take Route 29S to Route 100S for approx. 20 miles. Turn left onto King St. (diner on left corner). Continue on King St. and take a right onto N. Hanover St., then a left onto High St. (light). Steel River Playhouse is 1½ blocks on the left. Parking areas will be on the right.
From Lancaster, Reading & Douglassville
Follow Route 422E to the Route 100N exit toward Allentown. Continue on Route 100N to the intersection of King St. and PA 663. Turn right onto King St. (there are two right turn-offs approaching this intersection — be sure to take the 2nd one, closest to the light). Continue on King St. and turn right onto N. Hanover St., then left onto High St. (light). Steel River Playhouse is 1½ blocks on the left. Parking areas will be on the right.
Parking Made Easy
Free evening and weekend parking is available just a short walk away behind The New York Plaza on Penn Street. Additionally, convenient street parking and nearby municipal lots utilize the ParkMobile app, offering an easy way to manage your space right from your phone.
VideoRay Lot (Evenings & Weekends)
While heading west on High Street (Steel River will be on your right), take a left at the first traffic light onto Penn Street. There is a large parking lot on both sides of Penn Street, which is part of VideoRay and behind New York Plaza — please park against the fence bordering Queen Street, closest to the railroad tracks. All spots are available evenings after 6pm and on weekends; you’ll recognize them by the stingray painted on each spot. No parking is allowed at VideoRay on weekdays between 8am and 6pm, and cars left there are subject to towing during that period. The lot and walkway to Steel River Playhouse are well lit, and parking is free.
Street Parking (ParkMobile)
Pottstown street parking uses a smartphone app called ParkMobile, effective on High Street (including in front of the theater) as well as several of the parking lots our patrons use. Download the app and register, or use the kiosks located in the lot or on the corners of High Street — you’ll need your license plate number and the Zone# posted on the block or in the lot where you’re parking. This is effective 7 days a week, 6am to 2am. Find more information at ParkMobile or the ParkMobile Tutorial. If you don’t have a smartphone or can’t load the app, a phone number to call is posted on signs on High Street and in the parking lots.
